Our Company Came Second Only to Audi

A rain of awards for environment protection fell on Hungarian companies in the past few days. After handing over the Environment-Friendly Product Awards, the Green frog, founded by Deloitte, was awarded on Thursday. Of seven participants, the winner of this year's Central European Environmental Report Award ("Green Frog Award") is Audi Hungaria Motor Kft. Tiszai Vegyi Kombinát Nyrt. came second.

Róbert Reiniger, Director of Deloitte's environmental consulting function explained: “The jury appreciated in the application submitted by Audi, the winner of the competition, that it dealt with the environmental impacts of both the process of manufacturing and its own products. In case of the second best, TVK, the jury emphasized that the application clearly demonstrated the company's commitment in the field of environmental protection”. The auditor and business consulting company Deloitte founded in 2001 the Central European Environmental Report Award also known as “Green Frog” award to prepare the regional companies to participate in the European Union's environmental and sustainability tenders. The criteria for winning the award correspond to those of similar awards in the EU. In 2006 again, the award was granted by an independent international jury upon the request of Deloitte, the members of which were: Róbert Nemeskéri, the representative of the Regional Environmental Center (REC), Gábor Szabó, environmental journalist of HVG, and Dénes Bulkai, senior banker specialized in environment protection of EBRD. Last year, the Green Frog was awarded to Magyar Villamos Művek Rt., and Magyar Telekom Zrt. came second.
